"When we looked for a new non executive director for Think London, exec-appointments was quick, painless,
very good value and soon produced an excellent list of candidates which we would not have accessed ourselves
despite our very good connections in the London business community. I hope this service doesn’t remain a
well kept secret for much longer."
Ian Barlow Senior Partner, KPMG LLP; Chairman, Think London
"We are placing a record number of applicants for a wide variety of jobs, including Non-Exec Directors
and Chairmen for exit strategies, MBIs and MBOs and start-ups. The website is simple to use and pinpoints
plenty of quality candidates for all kinds of executive and non-executive positions."
Derek Skinner, Director, Putt Placements Ltd
"We are a relatively small and young organization and we wanted to bring in someone with specific
experience not only in growing small businesses but also in digital marketing." Enhance Media were able
to target very specifically the type of background that they wanted and the ad was up within 24 hours of
contacting The Non-Executive Director. They left the ad on for a month and in that time received 67 responses.
They are delighted to have recently appointed a new Chairman from the digital communications industry.
"People’s perception of the internet used to be that it is only used by graduates and IT people.
The Non-Executive Director shows beyond all doubt that senior people are looking for jobs online
and this is a massive step forward."
Alastair Cartwright, Commercial Director, Enhance Media, www.enhancemedia.co.uk
For eighteen months the Dementia Care Trust, a Bristol-based charity, searched for a treasurer trustee.
They had advertised in the local paper, on radio, and on their own notice boards. But they were struggling
to fill the position. The charity’s CEO Louise Chambers said: "Charities need to recruit people of high calibre,
but can’t afford the high cost of headhunting". exec-appointments.com provides a low-cost advertising service
on the web - successfully matching up charities that need experienced trustees with quality candidates prepared
to work for them. Within three months of using the service, the Dementia Care Trust had found the right
trustee. Ms Chambers said: "There are only a limited number of people who have got the skills and who are
prepared to take on the commitment of being a trustee. The main benefit of using the system established
by exec-appointments is that it was quick and easy."
Louise Chambers, Dementia Care Trust
"We used exec-appointments to recruit new Trustees and found the whole process from supplying
copy to receiving information regarding potential candidates very easy. The candidates were of
high calibre and we successfully recruited a new Trustee who has become an active member of our
team. Thank you for your professionalism and help during this process."
Debi Mortimer, CEO, Aspects and Milestones Trust
"We found the site invaluable and interviewed 6 people out of which we chose 3. I should like to use the
resource again and access disabled people and people of diverse ethnic origins to bring more balance
to the Board. The ones recruited were exactly the right fit (commercial sector) and are already actively
supporting the Foundation. Thank you for your assistance."
Nicole Penn-Symons, Chief Executive, Disabled Living Foundation
"The use of the exec-appointments.com database allowed us to
widen our search for non-executive directors at a manageable cost.
This was a cost effective way of recruiting such people and I wouldn't
hesitate to use it again"
Dick Jenkins, CEO, Bath Building Society
"We've had such a good response to the (non-executive director) advert.
Many thanks - the Board have been very impressed by the site and its effectiveness."
Carol Day, Head of Human Resources, Family Investments
"We advertised for a Trustee appointment with exec-appointments.com in 2003. We chose you for two main reasons: 1. Our
costs were cut to a minimum and 2. We were very anxious to increase our pool of applicants and expertise. In a rural,
fairly isolated area like Cumbria it is extremely difficult to attract new skills, as we are constantly trying to pull
from the same pool of people. The advertisement enabled us to appoint two new Trustees for the first time in eight years,
and they have brought a range of skills to the Trustee Board that we could only dream of. We found the procedure to follow
simple, stress free and professional. Thank you."
Carol Campbell, Bursar, Hospice of St. Mary of Furness
"We had a very good response to the ad on exec-appointments.com and we found two new Trustees as a result. I was extremely
happy with the service and have recommended you to friends and colleagues."
Dorothy Flatman, Programme Director, Women & Children First (UK)
"I am delighted to say that we have received 6 responses to our advertisement on exec-appointments.com. Of these 5 have
either been to see us or have made appointments to do so - 3 so far have expressed definite interest in becoming Trustees.
This has been our best response ever to Trustee recruitment advertising."
Jan Kangurs, PA to Director, Apex
"We had four responses to our advertisement over a three to four month period. The calibre of the candidates was excellent
and we have now appointed three of them. The fourth withdrew before we could interview him having taken up another voluntary
opportunity. All candidates provided a sufficiently detailed CV to enable us to make a decision about interviewing them. We
have gained three directors who add breadth and experience to the Board and whom we would have had difficulty reaching through
other media. Thank you very much for your service."
Wendy Hayward, Vice Chair, Children's Information Centre
"PrimeTimers has been advertising for the last 18 months through exec-appointments.com for business executives who want to work
in the charity sector. Our experience has been: a steady increase in the numbers who respond; consistently high quality
candidates; an open and innovative attitude to marketing and new initiatives. Difficult to fault, really."
Brent Thomas, Director, PrimeTimers
"We are happy with the response from exec-appointments for our Non-Executive Director ad."
Claudio Rojas, Capital Partners
"We recently posted an ad for a non-executive director within the financial services arena through exec-appointments.com and their
non-executive director site and received over 30 responses from which we have provided a very strong short list of candidates. This
all happened very quickly and allowed us to achieve a distinct advantage with our client."
Paul Griffiths, Director
"We are delighted to have made an appointment for the new Chair of the Anne Frank Trust. We have appointed an individual who came
to us through your exec-appointments service. She was an excellent candidate and we are all delighted with the appointment.
You will also be pleased to hear that another of your candidates will also be joining the board as a Trustee.
Thank you again for your support of the Trust in this way. We are all very grateful to you for finding us Grade A people who will move
us forward leaps and bounds."
Gillian Walnes, Executive Director, The Anne Frank Trust UK

Interview with Peter Callaghan
Peter Callaghan is not a typical non-executive director. Since 1992 he has held seven
non-executive positions, in industries ranging from property development to manufacturing,
and import and export of luggage to the Ministry of Defence. What makes Peter unusual is his
particular experience in change management, and it is this experience which dictates the
non-executive roles he takes, usually going in to help an organisation through a period of
difficulty or change.

"Thought you would like to know that through seeing the ad on exec-appointments a few nonths back, I'm now a trustee of the British Postal Museum & Archive."
"I have been appointed as a NED with Project Hyperion, the MoD project to combine the Adjutant General and Land Command. Without your service I am sure I would not have achieved this appointment"

"I think that the website is great and that it provides a valuable service. I also enjoyed the non-executive director's event that I attended in Dublin earlier last year."
"You may remember that last year you gave a talk to City Women's Network in London on NED role, etc. From the information you gave that evening I felt confidant in applying for a Trustee role with the Royal Air Force Museum and am pleased to say I was successful at my first attempt to get a non exec/trustee position."
"Thanks for taking the time to respond to my request for information. Incidentally your site is brilliant."
"Very good and useful service."
"Happy with the current situation. An excellent service."
